Truro City of Lights Festival and Parade

This is one of the most anticipated family events in Cornwall’s festive calendar, the City of Lights is a vividly creative celebration of art, music, dance and lights.
The event features a dazzling procession of giant handmade withy and tissue lanterns floating through the streets carried by professional artists, accompanied by a host of smaller lanterns carried by Cornish school children and local community and youth groups. Every year the procession has a different theme and is escorted by a feast of music and dance including samba, brass bands and pipes & drums.
In advance of the procession, there is music throughout the city including performances by school groups and the festivities continue after the procession with more outdoor music performances at various locations. A truly remarkable sight for all to see and to get you in the Christmas mood!
Mousehole Christmas Lights
18th December – 7th January 2017
A stunning site of floating Christmas Lights, with floating displays in the harbour and around the streets, Mousehole is definitely worth a visit at this special time of year. Sip on a mulled wine and munch on festive food whilst you delight in the array of bright coloured lights and lanterns.

Big Bude Lights Night
2nd December 2016
The fantastic big Bude Lights Night starts with a lantern parade around 6pm. The shops will be open for late night shopping until 8-8.30pm. Following the lights ‘switch-on’, there will be a procession at the Wharf where the helpful Elves will guide you to Nanny Moore’s bridge to follow Father Christmas around Bude, ending up at his grotto. Enjoy a festive glass of Mulled wine at the marque in the Castle Grounds.
NEW Laser Light and Sound Event at the Eden Project
November 25th to December 30th 2016
This year welcomes a stunning sound and vision spectacular to light up Christmas at the Eden Project.
This festival features a new event brought to Eden by internationally-renowned light artist Chris Levine and creative partners Eden LAB.
Visitors will be able to step out on to the Eden viewing platform and gaze in awe as dramatic lasers pierce through the darkness to create a canopy of light, painting the biomes and the plant displays with festive colours.
The Mediterranean Biome will be the stage for an enchanting undercover after-dark experience, with a beautifully-choreographed performance of music and light. Visitors will be able to stroll the pathways and experience Eden as never before.
Eden Festival of Light and Sound will run on selected evenings and include a sound treatment and live performance by top musical and vocal talents from across the South West, directed by singer-songwriter Jamie Crowe and choir leader Vicky Abbott.
